The state of Oregon has made a great start on drug legalization by decriminalizing marijuana usage. I believe it is time for the federal government to do the same and to take it further and declassify all drugs for recreational or medical purposes. This will have many positive effects it will end the illegal drug sales and stop money flowing to criminal gangs, it will lower the amount of tax money being spent to house non-violent drug users, it will allow for people who may become addicted to drugs to seek help without fear of criminal charges. This will also help in reducing the number of drug overdose deaths by allowing drug users to have a clear knowledge of what they are consuming.
